Additional What God Has Always Wanted: The Bible's Big Idea from Genesis Through Revelation Information

This isn't just a children's book. This book is for parents - parents who care deeply about passing on a legacy of faith in Christ. Parents who invite their children to "ask Jesus into your heart."

But what does that phrase really mean? And is it biblical? In my role as pastor and parent, I've found that when asked, many children don't understand that this phrase is symbolic. Jesus does not step into their chests to live there.

Seeing this disconnect between a grown-up's metaphor and a child's understanding, I wrote What God Has Always Wanted. It helps children understand the simple Gospel message: God desires to live in friendship with the people He created, now and forever. It gives the big-picture story of the Bible, from Genesis through Revelation.

Did you know that what God has always wanted is for you to become one of his friends?

What Customers Say About What God Has Always Wanted: The Bible's Big Idea from Genesis Through Revelation:

It reminds me of J. This is a well presented, beautifully illustrated book. It has a very an extremely helpful, kid-friendly glossary in the back of the book explaining many theological topics. Vernon McGee's statement that, "If you put the cookies jar on the bottom shelf where the kids can reach it, the parents will get it, too." The author is a masterful theologian himself and yet conveys truth in a solid and engaging way. I am so glad to have discovered this book which was reccommended by Michael Easley on his program, "In Context."

I think this book correctly tells in overview form the message that God wants an eternal relationship with us starting here on earth. He is in control and has had a plan since before there was time. I think this will be a very good book to read to my grandchildren.

Really enjoyed this book. Most adults-- never mind kids-- don't have a sense of how the bits and pieces of the Bible fit together into an integrated whole. Boyd addresses this need for children in a thoughtful and powerful way. Children will be able to get a sense of the big picture of Revelation, having a new frame of reference for all the little pictures they see when the many and diverse biblical stories come before their eyes.

the way 'what God has always wanted' is written takes the Gospel message from beginning to end and translates it on a child's level without diluting it. i am 26 years old and this book really reached out and grabbed me. the amazing thing is that after reading it, i didn't feel like anything was lost or looked over in the very fundamental truths addressed. even though it's a 'kids' book, don't be deceived. all walks and all ages can benefit from giving this one a read. i felt as though i had taken a step out of critical and opposing theological points of views and various other 'issues' that are haggled over and debated in many of the circles i find myself in, and gotten back in touch with the core message of what the Bible is saying to us. all that to say, this is an EXCELLENT children's book that i plan on reading to my kids one day, but will continue reading for myself, the 26 year old, until that day comes.

This is a wonderful way to share Gods Way's with your children. I purchased this book for my children because it tells the story of the bible from beginning to end in a way that can be comprehended by even the youngest of children. This book is helpful for the adult as well, because it help's us what God's intentions are. I plan to give this book as a gift, and to keep my copy for my future grandchildren. This is book is a keeper.
